FAQ
KNTQ is the governance token of the Kinetiq protocol and serves as the primary instrument for value accrual within the ecosystem. Launched on Hyperliquid in November 2025, KNTQ captures value from multiple protocol revenue streams, including validator commissions, staking revenue, and market fees. All acquired KNTQ from these mechanisms is distributed to stakers, aligning the growth of the protocol with its community. Learn more about KNTQ tokenomics.
sKNTQ is the staked version of the KNTQ token. By staking your KNTQ, you receive sKNTQ, which represents your share of the staking pool and entitles you to protocol rewards. Holding sKNTQ also unlocks ecosystem benefits through a tiered system, including kmHYPE minting allocations and increased Markets.xyz referral yields. Learn more about ecosystem benefits
sKNTQ is a reward-accruing token, meaning it grows in value relative to KNTQ over time. As rewards are added to the pool, the sKNTQ : KNTQ exchange rate increases, allowing you to redeem more KNTQ than you initially staked. Learn more about KNTQ value accrual mechanisms.
Smart contract risk
As with any smart contract, it is entirely possible that Kinetiq smart contracts may contain a bug or vulnerability. To mitigate this risk, all Kinetiq core contracts have been audited several times over, by firms like Spearbit, Zenith, Pashov Audit Group, and Code4rena. Kinetiq will continue to audit its smart contracts as future iterations of the protocol are rolled out to ensure the highest standards of security, and take further steps to mitigate smart contract risk. Read our audit reports here.
You can exit your sKNTQ position using one of two methods:
- Direct unstaking via the Kinetiq dApp, which involves a 7-day unstake period
- Swapping instantly on a supported sKNTQ market
